Truth has its own markers: a poem

Truth has its own markers
Lies fly like kites
Wherever a wind blow
People struggle with aspects of life

Compass cleansed for use
Guidewires of mechanical construction
Shall embark on my own galactic voyage
Aspire to discover new solutions

New Year inaugurated with prayer
Shofar sounds to stimulate contemplation
Realistic re-evaluation of my life
Penitence for sins committed

I join with others in prayer
Fasting to cleanse my inner self
Yet to contemplate acts of charity
I search for four species

Spine heart eyes lips
Held together for a blessing
Sharing time in a temporary dwelling
Natural roof permitting rays of sunshine

Phone contact personal invitations
Balance of family and friends
Wine challah dollop of honey
Inaugurating holiday meals

Too soon with tears of happy memories
We bid adieu of a while
Awaiting gift of matzah time
Family friends joining for a seder
