Dear That’s Life,
After much deliberation, the jury is back and the decisions are unanimous.
Many people participated in our little game called “What’s the most embarrassing song on your iPod?” An embarrassing song was one that someone was silently proud of yet still embarrassed to have purchased or downloaded.
When I mentioned to someone that I had “Copacabana” by Barry Manilow on my iPod, he said (without a hint of shame, I might add) that he had just been to a Manilow concert last year. That was not something to admit out loud, I told him –– some things even I keep to myself. He justified his attendance at the concert by insisting that Barry put on a great show, but I asked him to please not bring me a concert shirt the next time he goes –– should there need to be a next time.
Certain entries just made us laugh –– not only because of the songs themselves, but also because of the guilty pleasure their owners seemed to take in having these songs on their iPod and actually admitting it.
The following is a list of the top ten songs and a few honorable mentions. Thanks for playing and enjoy - it was all in good fun.
Honorable Mention:
