NSHA names Megillah program for Brody

Posted

The North Shore Hebrew Academy Middle School Megillah Readers Program, initiated two decades ago by Dr. Paul Brody, was named in his honor — as was a recently purchased Megillah — by Rabbi Dr. Jeffrey Kobrin, rosh ha yeshiva and head of school, at the Middle School graduation exercises.

Brody has instructed approximately 400 students, both Ashkenazi and Sephardi, beginning with eight students in 2002. This year’s group included 35 of 39 eighth graders and two seventh graders.

A Proclamation declaring June 15th as “Dr. Paul Brody Megillah Readers Day,” was issued by Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.
