American Friends of Bar-Ilan University has appointed Dr. Nina Hanan as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Hanan joins AFBIU after several years as chief development officer with Friends of the Israel Defense Forces. Previously, she was chief development officer at the Anti-Defamation League.
“I am absolutely delighted to begin this exciting new chapter of my career with AFBIU,” says Hanan. “Bar-Ilan is one of Israel’s leading institutions of higher learning. I look forward to expanding its renown across America, and to supporting life-altering research at the university that impacts Israel and the world.
Hanan grew up in Israel and holds a BA from City College of New York and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Graduate School and University Center at the City University of New York. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Women in Development and was co-chair of WID’s President’s Council.
