I Know A Guy, go-to general contractor for 15 years
Since he started his business in 2006, Avi Ackerman — the man behind I Know A Guy Inc. — has become the go-to general contractor in and around the Five Towns.
For 15 years, he’s been building homes and local businesses and enhancing our shopping and dining experiences.
Born in Lawrence and now living in Cedarhurst where his office is located, Ackerman deploys an holistic approach to both residential and commercial construction.
When the winter cold snap ends and warm weather reigns, West Hempstead residents will cheer the return of their Carvel Ice Cream store, whose rebuild is taking place under Ackerman’s watchful eye.
Jodi of Carvel said that “from design to execution, Avi turned our visions into reality.”
“Having I Know A Guy’s team by our side has been an outstanding encounter in every regard,” Jodi said. “I would not hesitate to call him for any future projects or needs.”
For Tamar of Cedarhurst, the takeaway from the construction of her new home was this: “Sit back, relax, and let Avi do his magic.”
“Don’t let the super-confident bravado scare you away,” Tamar said. “With attention to every detail, Avi and his crew are always one step ahead of the game. He knows the answers before you even ask them, and his plan is always spot on. We couldn’t be happier with the way our home came out!”
Sam of Chickies said he frequently consults with Avi.
“I more often call him for recommendations and suggestions than I use Google for my research. ‘I Know A Guy’ is more a tool that I use for my business than a cliché.”
Sam continued: “Avi truly knows all about construction — and more importantly, he’s happy to share his knowledge with you. Knowing his experience building out several restaurants, we were put at ease, throughout our project on many occasions.
“While the final product speaks for itself, the care of making sure that everything is operational and done to absolute perfection is the reason I would recommend I Know A Guy to anyone that wants the perfect construction job.”
Avi Ackerman is the guy to know (and call) when a home needs work, from a simple bathroom renovation to adding an extension, reworking a kitchen or basement, or a full renovation. For commercial jobs, I Know A Guy’s work ranges from renovations to buildouts of restaurants, retail stores, high rises, and strip mall conversions. The company works throughout Long Island and New York City.
With a full spectrum of pre-construction and construction services, projects run smoothly from beginning to completion.
Jeffrey Mark of J.Mark Interiors, a professional interior designer with over 20 years of experience in high end residential and commercial projects, congratulated Ackerman on his 15th annniversary, writing, “It’s been amazing working together and collaborating with your team on so many quality projects over the years. When anyone is looking for quality work and great service just call I Know A Guy!”
