Aish Kodesh treasurer Isaac Zucker, 47 was arrested on June 29 at a hotel outside the Long Island-MacArthur Airport, charged with pocketing $600,000 from the Woodmere congregation. Nassau County Police did not indicate whether Zucker was bound for a flight at the time of his arrest. Calls to Zucker and Congregation Aish Kodesh were not immediately available at press time.
Zucker runs a law practice in Mineola and served as coach of the Mock Trial team at SKA High School for Girls. The police arrested Zucker after being notified by Aish Kodesh board members. Through his attorney Bruce Wenger, Zucker pleaded innocence to embezzling funds. He was ordered held on $150,000 cash bail or $300,000 bond. He also had to surrender his passport.
