Dear Aviva, I have both a friend and a relative with the same issue. If they have a problem with something that I’ve said or done, they will not call me out on it immediately and appropriately, instead they let it fester and brew and not mention anything about it. They may avoid me until one day, weeks later, something may trigger it and they blow. Both these people have had hard lives, and I feel like they take things harder when someone wrongs them. When they finally come out and say why they are upset, they end up standing there blubbering and crying and I feel absolutely no rachmanos for them. They should have said something before! How can I avoid this or handle it better in the future? -Irritated Irritant more

To the Editor: Orthodox Rabbis in the Five Towns urge their followers to cancel subscriptions to The New York Times. In the opinion of these Jewish leaders, The Times, in an effort to promote its liberal agenda, editorializes, rather than reports, the news. This practice of literally coloring the news in an effort to promote its agenda now seems to resonate with The Five Towns Jewish Times as well. more
It’s about to get biblical with Darren Aronofsky‘s grand re-revisionist telling of the Biblical flood; Noah will storm theaters next spring. No footage has been released of the $130 million epic, but this being Hollywood, I for one am a little nervous as biblical epics seldom satiate — they are generally too irreverent for the faith-based and way too reverent for the armchair agonists who are choking on their popcorn. more
