Senior sleep

Posted

As we age, it is common to have problems falling asleep or staying asleep. To learn how sleep patterns change during the normal aging process and how to improve one’s quality of sleep, the public is invited to attend Winthrop-University Hospital’s free lecture for seniors, “Sleeping Through the Ages,” on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 1:15 pm, in the Mineola Community Center, 155 Washington Ave., Mineola.

Winthrop Sleep Disorders specialist Qanta Ahmed will explain sleep disorders common in older individuals, the evaluation process, and tips for getting a good night’s rest. A question and answer period will follow the lecture.

The program will be followed by blood pressure checks at 2:45 pm. Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the building, as well as in metered lots across the street.

To reserve a space, call (516) 663-3916.
