Leah (right) a Flatbush mother, and Aliza (left), a grandmother from Bnei Brak, met for the first time last week at a celebration for the successful kidney transplant betwen the two. Leah, whose own mother passed away from kidney failure, decided to donate one of her kidneys in her mother’s memory. The transplant was facilitated through Renewal, an organization that assists patients looking to donate organs. This is the 26th transplant that Renewal has participated in. At the event, it was announced that Aliza's son, Ariel, is set to donate one of his kidneys to another person in need.
