FIRE ELECTION. Voting for fire commissioners in the Five Towns fire districts is being conducted today. All terms are five years and begin on Jan. 1, 2014.

•Incumbent Woodmere Fire Commissioner David Stern is being challenged by Stewart Bodner. Voting is from 6 to 9 pm. at firehouse at 20 Irving Place, Woodmere

•Sitting commissioner Paul Breslin is unopposed in the Hewlett Bay district. Voters can cast ballots from 5 to 9 p.m. at the firehouse at 25 Franklin Ave., Hewlett

•Also running unchallenged is incumbent Inwood Commissioner George Miller. Voting is at the firehouse at 188 Doughty Blvd., 6 to 9 pm.

•Atlantic Beach Fire Rescue Commissioner Steve Cherson is unopposed, too. Voting is between 6 and 9 p.m. at Atlantic Beach Fire Rescue Headquarters at One Rescue Road in Atlantic Beach.

•Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department held its elections on Dec. 3.
