HANC elects new student council

Students at HANC’s Samuel & Elizabeth Bass Golding Elementary School, in West Hempstead, celebrated Election Day by voting for the HANC 609 Student Council. 

Sixth graders selected their candidates during a primary election which took place a week earlier. In the days leading up to the election, candidates campaigned by putting up posters and working hard to drum up support. On Election Day, the candidates gave a speech about their goals and aspirations if elected and how they would focus on this year’s Student Council goal of doing more chessed. 

After hearing the speeches, students in third through sixth grades voted.

Congratulations to Yaira Goldress (president), Aderet Weiss (vice president), Joshua Aryeh (treasurer) and Yitzy Gross (secretary). The Student Council Cabinet will be made up of Leor Greenfield, Rena Hackel, Ari Irvy and Daniella Smus.
