Rabbi Avi Weiss of the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale addresses a rally of Ukrainian nationals Sunday afternoon across the street from the Russian compound on Mosholu Avenue in Riverdale. On Sunday morning, he told another rally at the same spot, organized by Riverdale synagogues and other Jewish groups, “I declare and I ask you to declare, ‘I am a Ukrainian’.” The crowd chanted, “I am a Ukrainian.”
