Saying thanks at Parker Jewish

Posted

Friends and associates of the Parker Jewish Institute for Healthcare and Rehabilitation in New Hyde Park continue to express thanks for the dedication displayed during the coronavirus crisis by members of the Parker team.

A boy recently joined greeters outside the health care and rehabilitation facility, holding a colorful homemade sign that proclaims, “THANK YOU for your hard work and sacrifices. … Your hard work does not go unnoticed.”

The institute itself sent this message to its community:

“There’s no greater act of love than those who serve others when and where no one else can see.

“As the news across the country horrifies us all with statistics revealing the coronavirus’ direct aim at our nation’s nursing homes, we want you to know how grateful we are for your support and generous donations of money and extra supplies, that have helped us equip our staff with the protective gear they need.

“It is easy to write stories citing numbers without context, but harder to tell the real story of fighting the monster that is COVID-19 from the frontlines. The battle being waged by our brave nursing and clinical staff is behind enemy lines, as we care for our patients and residents every day.

“We salute the heroes who report for duty daily, at our mission-driven not-for-profit facility, to protect and care for our patients and residents, and please know that the continued support of our community means the world to us.”
