‘Return: Daily Inspiration for the Days of Awe’

Erica Brown is one of our community’s foremost American Jewish educators. Through her teachings on Teshuva, she helps people to re-think our sacred texts, thus making them ever more relevant in our daily lives.

In this book, “Return: Daily Inspiration For The Days Of Awe,” Brown leads the reader on a personal journey through the ten days between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. Each essay reflects her educational approach, and features a solid understanding of traditional Jewish texts and contemporary scholarship.

After each essay, she offers additional texts for further study. The reader will have the knowledge base and the practical tools to turn these days of intensity into a period of introspection and spiritual growth.

In his introduction to this work, Rabbi Menachem Genack writes the following:

“Erica Brown has had an exceptional impact on the Jewish scene. With her rare ability to convey the wisdom of our sages to a contemporary audience, she has raised an awareness of Jewish learning that is striking.

“We are indebted to her for this book, in which she gives us the tools to navigate the process of teshuva during the time between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, a time suffused with hope and promise.”
