YOSS talmidim visit the Novominsker Rebbe

Posted

Last week, a select group of talmidim of Yeshiva of South Shore, had the tremendous zchus and privilege to visit and hear divrei chizuk from the Novominsker Rebbe, shlit”a. The boys, the Bachurei Chemed, were offered this trip in recognition of being a member in this special society. Bachurei Chemed is a society within the yeshiva comprised of talmidim from grades 4 through 8, chosen by their rabbiem, who demonstrate middos tovos, hanhaga tova and yiras shomayim throughout the year.

Accompanied by Roshei Hayeshiva Rabbi Binyamin Kamenetzky and Rabbi Mordechai Kamenetzky, the boys sat enraptured as the Novominsker Rebbe addressed them passionately about the importance of remembering Hakadosh Baruch Hu 24 hours a day.

He emphasized that a bachur should consider Hashem’s presence not only when he’s learning or davening, but even when he eats, when he plays ball and when he goes to sleep. The rebbe then gave a bracha to each boy individually. Undoubtedly, each boy felt a great deal of chizuk from the experience.

As a further expression of recognition the yeshiva has for these special young men, they were treated to a pizza lunch at Mendelson’s Pizza and from there they continued back to the Five Towns where they played a round of mini-golf and used the batting cages. The outing was organized and chaperoned by Rabbi Shlomo Drebin.
