Uncured dogs: Pesach kosher

Posted

Abeles & Heymann reports that it is offering healthier new choices for Pesach  — all-beef frankfurters that are uncured, contain no nitrates or fillers and are gluten-free. There is an option for lower sodium and fat content as well.

“Uncured hot dogs are a very hot trend in America and we are proud to make the best  tasting Hot dogs with many options for our consumer,” says Abeles & Heymann CEO Seth Leavitt. “Years of development and refinement have made this into the best kosher uncured hot dog on the market today.”

Abeles & Heymann was founded in 1954, when Oscar Abeles and Leopold Heymann opened a butcher store in Washington Heights. In 1997, Leavitt and his attorney cousin David Flamholz bought out Heymann and his wife, Sophie, and continued making hot dogs, among other things, in their Bronx facility.

Since then the family-run company has moved to a state-of-the art facility in New Jersey, and has seen an over tenfold increase in sales. To grow the business even further, Abeles & Heymann partnered with the manufacturing arm of an Israeli Kibbutz (Maadany Yehiam, makers of the Hod Golan line of turkey products) and presently produces over 1,000 tons of quality glatt kosher deli a year.

Abeles & Heymann products are certified glatt kosher by the Orthodox Union, Kehillah Kashrus and Rabbi Yecheil Babad.
