Kulanu honors Scharfs

Posted

Kulanu will honor Melodie and Marty Scharf at its annual scholarship dinner on Saturday, Dec. 17, at The Sands Atlantic Beach.

Kulanu Center for Special Services and the Kulanu Academy is a pride of the Five Towns for its leadership in mapping a productive path, within a Jewish environment, for chidren with special needs. The Scharfs are founders of Kulanu and have served on its  board of governors and executive board. The Kulanu Academy school building, on Central Avenue in Cedarhurst, is dedicated in memory of Marty’s father, Abraham Scharf, z’l.

The Scharfs, from Lawrence, have for many years exemplified service to the Five Towns community and beyond; they have reached out to communities all over the world to aid and promote Jewish and personal causes.

The Kulanu dinner provides Five Towns residents with an opportunity to once again honor and support both an outstanding organization and a unique and valued couple.
