Dunetz challenges a top Dem over Linda Sarsour

Posted

On Saturday, Michael Blake, vice-chairman of the national Democrat Party and a state assemblymember from the Bronx, issued a threatening tweet against those who “keep coming” after America-basher and anti-Semite Linda Sarsour, who is scheduled to give the commencement speech at CUNY college.

Here’s the tweet: “Making it real clear. If you keep coming after @lsarsour, we’re going to respond directly, consistently, with all heart & soul.

Fall back!”

One day earlier, he retweeted this: “Let’s be VERY CLEAR ... I WILL ALWAYS STAND WITH Linda because my liberation is tied up with hers!”

Sarsour is an anti-Semite, and she constantly trashes the United States. She deserves to be “come after.” And as a taxpayer whose hard-earned dollars help pay for CUNY I have every right to protest the fact that she has been given such a prestigious speaking slot.

Much of modern anti-Semitism is different from traditional Jew-hatred, it is disguised as anti-Zionism, and claimed to be simply criticism of Israel. In 2009 while Barack Obama was president, the U.S. State Department defined anti-Semitism. The list is long but one of the items includes this: “Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, and denying Israel the right to exist [also known as Zionism].” Sarsour fits into this category big time.

In 2011 Sarsour told NY1 that she favors a one-state solution where an Arab majority and a Jewish minority would live together within the borders of a single country. She also made clear her opposition to Israel’s existence as a Jewish state when she tweeted in October 2012 that “nothing is creepier than Zionism.”

Sarsour recently told the Nation magazine that Zionists cannot be feminists. “It just doesn’t make any sense for someone to say, ‘Is there room for people who support the state of Israel and do not criticize it in the movement?’ There can’t be in feminism. You either stand up for the rights of all women, including Palestinians, or none. There’s just no way around it,” Sarsour said.

She should try to tell that to my friend Dr. Phyllis Chesler who is not only a Zionist, but an internationally recognized leader of the feminist movement.

Sarsour has often stated her support of the anti-Semitic BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement, an initiative that uses various forms of public protest, economic pressure, and court rulings to advance the agenda of permanently destroying Israel as a Jewish state. She also falsely maintains that a “Palestine existed before the State of Israel.”

This hate-monger doesn’t expend all of her venom on Jews.

As described by Daniel Pipes in the Washington Times, “Typical of her charm and grace, she said of Brigitte Gabriel and Ayaan Hirsi Ali, two leading anti-Islamists [Somali-born Hirsi Ali was a victim of female genital mutilation], ‘I wish I could take their vaginas away — they don’t deserve to be women’.”

In 2012, the Investigative Project on Terrorism noted:

“An Islamist activist honored by the White House last December as a “Champion of Change” called Zionism ‘racism’ this week and said ‘nothing is creepier’ than the belief in a Jewish homeland. Linda Sarsour also posted two links on her Twitter feed to a rabidly anti-Israel video by a New York poet that accuses Israel of ethnic cleansing and mocks interfaith dialogue as selling out.”

“She also believes there is a government conspiracy against Muslims and that the authorities were behind Malcolm X’s assassination. During a Feb. 23, 2012 interview with Russia TV, Sarsour claimed that “Islamophobia” today is a continuation of the genocide of native Americans and the slavery of African-Americans. ‘This has happened throughout the history of our country; our country was based on, you know, genocide on native Americans, based on slavery, racial profiling has existed for centuries in this community,’ she said.”

Blake, the Democratic Party’s vice-chairman, says “we’re going to respond directly, consistently, with all heart and soul” to those of us who don’t back off Sarsour. Maybe this is simply a reflection of the Democratic Party’s growing hostility toward Jews. After all, they recently made anti-Semitic, anti-Israel friend of the Muslim Brotherhood Keith Ellison its number two person. And New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, who went against the wishes of her voters and helped to pass the Iran Deal which doesn’t stop Iran from building nuclear weapons and attacking the Jewish state, wrote a glowing endorsement of Sarsour in a recent issue of Time magazine.

This is personal. Sarsour slanders America, the country that has given my family a home since they fled here over a century ago. She slanders the law enforcement people who protect my family every day. And she slanders the Jewish people, of which I am a very proud member.

I will continue to go after her. If you want to go after me directly, as your tweet says, send me a tweet and we can set up a meeting.
