Shulamith girls at Jewish heritage museum: Zachor

Posted

Seventh graders from the Shulamith School for Girls visited the Museum of Jewish Heritage — A Living Memorial to the Holocaust in Battery Park.

The girls learned that pre-war Jewish communities were much like our own, with yeshivot, shuls and charitable organizations. They learned about the rise of Naziism in Europe, Nazi propaganda, the timeline of the Holocaust, and religious observance and resistance in the concentration camps.

The day’s highlight was listening to survivor Sally Frishberg recount her experiences. Frishberg implored them to zachor (remember) what they heard and to share it with future generations.
