Magen LI-YILC outlines camp safety for parents
(Page 6 of 6)
The meeting was sponsored by Magen LI, an organization that was founded following the murder of Leiby Kletzky, a”h, to teach administrators, teachers, parents and children to be aware, to be empowered, and to stay safe. Enlisting the help of activist women in the Five Towns and Rockaways and the Aleinu Family Resource Center of the Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles and its director Debbie Fox and the Safety Kid program, a program was formulated. Twelve yeshivot and day schools in the area participated in rigorous training sessions involving mental health professionals, administrators, teachers, parents and then educating students in kindergarten through fourth or fifth grade. For a copy of an audio CD of the program call 917-865-0433. Other resources available include Chai Lifeline at 212 699-6646, Achiezer’s 24-hour number 516 791-4444.
