Jerrold Nadler’s betrayal

Posted

The past week has seen new revelations calling into question the efficacy of the P5+1 deal with Iran, and the truthfulness of what the Obama administration is telling the American people. Yet despite these revelations, a former supporter of Israel, Rep. Jerrold Nadler, announced on Friday that he would support the agreement with Iran.

As an American and as Jew, I believe Rep. Nadler betrayed this country, the 10th Congressional district of New York, and the Jewish community. He sold us out for his personal agenda, which I believe is based on politics not the facts.

Nadler is a very bright man and just the revelations of the prior week would prevent a non-political person from supporting the agreement. But Obama put extra pressure on Nadler because his support will help him sell the deal to other Democrats, especially after former Long Island Rep. Steve Israel, chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, decided to do the right thing and oppose the deal.

The big revelations this week included a Russian sale of missiles to Iran, Obama letters which eliminate the promise of sanctions “snap backs,” and a U.N. side deal promising that the terrorist state would be able to self-inspect its Parchin nuclear site.

On Aug. 18, Reuters reported that Russia would sign a deal to provide Iran with advanced S-300 ground to air missile systems. These would be used to protect Iran’s nuclear sites. Originally Russia said it would observe a ban on selling the systems to Iran in response to requests from the United States, despite a loophole in UNSC resolution 1929 that did not cover the systems. Then in April Russia said it would lift the ban but indicated that it would not sell the systems anytime soon. Three months later, it’s a done deal.

The Obama letters are promises to foreign nations that if Iran violates the deal and the sanctions are snapped back, their companies would be able to continue operating in the rogue nation without fear of punishment from the United States. In other words, the letters totally negate the snap back provisions of the deal
