Gabrielle Lovett, of Woodmere, is HAFTR’s Class of 2012 Valedictorian. At HAFTR Gabrielle was Captain of College Bowl, President of Model Congress, President of the National Honor Society, and participated in the following: Math Team, Science and Engineering Club, Science Research, Volleyball, Food Delivery to the Needy, Intel Competition. She plans to major in Chemistry at Columbia University. more
They raised questions, hypothesized, tested and made winning designs, earning prizes at the Yeshiva Science Olympiad on March 6. This year’s venue was Touro College’s Lander College for Men, welcoming students into its lab classrooms. “It’s important for the Orthodox community to contribute to science for the betterment of the world. The art classes at S.K.A. and HAFTR were all filled with student-made banners portraying Israeli flags, kippot and themes of every respective yeshiva. As New York City prepares for the festivities celebrating Israel’s independence, Long Islanders are gearing up for a day of great tribute and emotion. more
HAFTR hosted 300 students from 19 tri-state area Jewish high schools to showcase what they learned during two years of an Israeli high tech engineering course. more
After years of praying and hoping, letter writing and vigils, students from DRS, SKA and Rambam Mesivta were able to meet with Gilad Shalit and members of his army unit over the course of a ten-day visit to the United States. more
