Dear Editor,
I was pleased to read your article about Dr. Eyal Gur [FIDF helps Israeli veteran MD run, bike and hike, May 17].
Dr. Gur for many years had been a member of Beit Halochem, the sports and rehabilitation centers of the Zahal Disabled Veteran Organization. This is the organization that is supported by the FIDV 5Towns 5K. In the past he had even been a speaker for Beit Halochem.

Dear Friends:
This is an open letter which concludes with a notice of cancellation of Sunday’s event at the Great Neck Synagogue.
The synagogue, and particularly Rabbi Polakoff, merit a debt from American Jewry for an instinctive understanding of the need to awaken us all to a gathering storm. In the end, the pressure from left-wing Jews, deliberate media ignorance, “shtetl” mentality which informs that a problem goes away if you ignore / do not discuss it; and the resulting enormous cost burden for security and the fear engendered in our school kids’ parents - was simply too great a cost for the synagogue to bear.

Dear Editor
I hope you will consider printing yet another letter regarding the sale of the number 6 school. By the time this letter is printed the vote on the sale will have been taken and so this letter is not for or against the sale to the Simone Group and Mt. Sinai. Rather I am writing about the School Boards decision to recommend the sale of the building to Mt. Sinai and to put it to the community for a vote.

Dear Editor:
Has anyone taken a close look at the traffic plans for the mega medical center being planned in Woodmere? The details are shocking.
This mega-medical center would pack hundreds of additional cars onto Peninsula and Branch boulevards, and on Rockaway Boulevard, while creating maddening traffic gridlock. Cars would be forced onto residential streets throughout our community for as long as this proposed regional medical center would plague our community.

It was unfortunate that Malka Eisenberg chose to give a largely unchallenged forum to Pamela Geller, who is, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, “anti-Muslim movement’s most visible and flamboyant figurehead.” http://bit.ly/njgAJU.

Dear Editor:
As someone well-schooled in politics, permit me a prediction concerning the ill-advised nomination of Senator Chuck Hagel to be defense secretary. His hostility towards Israel and his dangerous level of tolerance for the prevarications, stalling tactics, genocidal intentions and the like of the Iranians, Hamas, Islamists galore and others of like mind is only too well-known.
